This is the first time in 5 years that I have not been following American Idol. Truthfully, I just did not LOVE any of the contestants enough to waste my time watching. I figured I'd hold out hope for Canadian Idol.
But of course, since my other husband was coaching this week, I had to watch. After all, it would be blasphemous for me to miss a chance to see my Jon.
I won't sit here and try to critique the six performers. I have no idea if they were better or worse than usual, like I said, I have not been watching. Although I admit, I had to change the channel when that one kid was doing "You Give Love A Bad Name", it was too painful to watch.
But that girl, Lakisha is it? Melinda! (thanks ec). I almost stood up and clapped when she was done with "Have a Nice Day". I never even liked that song before, until she sung it. For a girl that does not rock, she rocked. That was so awesome, I just had to post about it.
She'd have my vote, if I had one.

Thank you, I stand corrected. I was to ga-ga over seeing Jon, I could not remember names! I will correct that right now.
And I have to agree, Melinda seems very talented. I may just have to start watching to see what she does next!
I gave up on American Idol after season 4 when Constantine Maroulis got voted off. I figured the voters had to be crazy, and I just couldn't watch anymore. Do you remember him? I loved him. LOL
Anyways, I've been trying to pay attention this year, but there's no one that I'm drawn to. I've only watched a couple of times. I do like Melinda though...she's a great singer. Bon Jovi night was good though. I love Bon Jovi too. It was the first concert I ever went to. :-)
Season 4 was the last season I got really excited about. I was a huge Bo fan.
Last season wasn't so bad, I loved Katherine and Chris, but I just could not stand whatshisname that won.
Bon Jovi was my first concert too! July 1987 in Toronto.
I had to think for a minute who won last year...then it came to me. That grey haired guy. LOL
I saw Bon Jovi in '95 in Halifax. :-) He was on stage in tight blue jeans, so shirt and a leather vest. I was only 15, but I was in love. LOL
To me AI is the best show based on entertainment, I still think it's rigged though. Melinda is way above the rest but I'm rooting for Jordin to take second and Lakisha third, all the guys totally sucked this season, and I agree with you on your assesment on Blake and You Give Love a Bad Name.
